If you use Google Scholar off-campus to search for peer reviewed journal articles and scholarly research, you already know that you frequently end up on publishers' sites with no access to the full text of the articles.

To make your search experience more successful, there are a few quick steps you can do to ensure that Google Scholar will provide links to what KPU library has in its collection. This is called Library Links.

1. Go to Google Scholar

2. Navigate to the hamburger menu in the top left hand corner.

3. Open up Settings, then click on Library Links.

4. In the search bar, enter Kwantlen Polytechnic University

5. You should now see the check box Kwantlen Polytechnic University - Full Text at KPU underneath.

This setting will allow you to run searches in Google Scholar and see links to those articles in journals and databases which KPU library subscribes to. Once you click the Full text at KPU next to an article record you will be prompted to log in with your KPU ID if you are not already signed in. Without enabling Library Links, your search results will only provide links to the full text of articles on publishers' sites.

What happens if there is no Full text at KPU link? For any article that you don't see a link to, you can submit a request through Interlibrary Loan, and we will get it for you, for FREE! But it does take a couple of days, so don't leave your research too late.
