Fines occur when you don't return library material on time, or if you have lost or do not return your items to the library. If you don't return a book or other library item, you will be billed for replacement costs plus a processing fee and any overdue fines that have accumulated.
Failure to pay outstanding fines may result in the loss of library privileges and for students, the withholding of transcripts, diplomas, certificates or citations. It may also interfere with registering for courses. Borrowing of Library materials and equipment will be denied if $25 or more is outstanding on your library account.

The best way to avoid fines is to return material on time and to keep track of your Library Account.
